A priority for the church was to make all the buildings more energy efficient. We did an assessment of all three facilities, prioritizing repairs and upgrades and assigning costs to each recommendation. As part of our planning work, we developed a conceptual plan for the renovation of the existing Parish Hall, reconfiguring spaces to better support the Guiding Ray (church school) program, adding an elevator and other elements to improve overall accessibility, adding more energy efficient windows and insulation, incorporating more efficient storage spaces, and replacing the old administrative area with a new wing that includes offices, meeting rooms and a small chapel.
The Episcopal Church of Saint Mary the Virgin
S. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Falmouth sits on a three-acre campus that consists of a lovely stone church modeled after S. Illsley Church in England, a Parish Hall built in three stages, a Rectory, burial grounds, and gardens. SSA developed a comprehensive plan for the buildings and grounds that addressed current maintenance needs, possible changes to existing structures to accommodate future facility needs, and a sustainable approach to the facilities, grounds, and burial gardens.
